Action Songs and Rhymes with Kinesthetic Movements

Maria Kinigou Flamboura - Μαρία Κυνιγού-Φλαμπούρα has written many rhymes and songs  promoting the importance of physical movement education, rhythm and oral expression. She says that:

'Το πρόβλημα για τα παιδικά τραγούδια είναι οτι πολλές φορές για να μην είναι βαρετά, η μελωδία ποικιλλεται με πιο πολλές νότες και γίνεται ετσι δύσκολη για τηισ δυνατότητες των παιδιών.'

'Τα τραγούδια ομως είναι για να τα τραγουδάη το παιδί ατόφια και οχι να τα μουρμουρίζη, ή να λέη μια λέξη που και που, ή την κατάληξη του στίχου.'

'Το τραγούδι είναι αγωγή. Είναι μια διεξόδος και είναι ο σύντροφος του παιδιού στην έκφραση.'

'Η κίνηση επίσης είναι πρωταρχικό στοιχείο για το ξέσπασμα, την ψυχαγωγία και την πειθαρχία του παιδιού. Νευρικά και μυικά.'

Βατραχάκι

Ένα βατραχάκι τόσο δα μικρό, τι βουτιές που κάνει μέσα στο νερό. 

Σε όλο το τραγούδι τα παιδιά ακουμπώνας τα χέρια τούς στο πάτωμα κλωτσάνε στον αέρα τα δύο τους τα πόδια.

Mothers can sing this song during bath time and the child can kick up the water pretending to be frog. Toddlers and young children can have a lot of fun placing their fingers close to show small, together as in a prayer action to dive and jumping with both feet close on the floor. Confident children in the water can do it in the pool or when they go to the beach with supervision and support.

 Λαγουδάκι

Λαγουδάκι με μεγαλ' αυτία,

Place hands on the side of the head to show rabbit ears

πως πηδάει μέσα στα κλαριά.

Feet together jumping in the leaves

Κρύβετ' απο δω κρύβετ' απο κει,

Huddling like a ball and running to hide back and forth

κι ενας κυνηγός ψάχνει να το βρει.

Standing tall, pretend gun on the shoulder with hand over the eyes as a visor looking around left and right

Τρέχει απο δω, τρέχει απο κει,

Running here and there looking for the rabbits

Μέσα στη φωλία, γρήγορα να μπει.

As a rabbit in the ball position jumping into the rabbit hole.

In the back yard or the park can be a perfect setting to sing and pretend to be rabbits. A Easter egg during this holiday or a little prize in the pretend rabbit hole will give children more incentive to aim for.
